Clinical Trials

Participation in prostate cancer research is an important commitment of the center in its mission to provide the best cancer treatment. In support of the center’s mission we are an affiliate member of Stanford University Medical Center to the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) for research purposes. Providing the opportunity for patients to take part in clinical trials is just one of the aspects of the advanced care that center offers.

Clinical trials are studies that evaluate:

  • New cancer therapies
  • Diagnostics
  • Preventive measures

These types of studies typically compare the most effective current treatment with a promising approach that may improve outcomes. Some test a completely new treatment for the first time. All advances in cancer treatment were evaluated and developed using clinical trials.
