Joining Eisenhower Medical Centers Auxiliary
and Volunteer Services can be a rewarding
experience. Whether you assist in the Medical
Centers day-to-day operations, or provide
a personal service to patients and visitors,
you will represent an organization that has
been invaluable to Eisenhower Medical Center
for over 30 years.
History
The Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary began in November, 1969, when Dolores Hope invited a small but enthusiastic group of women for tea at her Palm Springs home.
The goal was to establish a working organization
that would assist the Medical Center in fundraising
projects, and provide assistance to patients
and hospital personnel.
Today, the Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary
has more than 1,750 members, 750 of whom are
adult and junior volunteers, distinguished
by their red, white and blue uniforms. These
individuals donate service hours in more than
50 Eisenhower Medical Center departments.
Through its fundraising efforts, the Auxiliary
has donated over $12 million to the Medical
Center.
Joining the Auxiliary
You may join the Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary at one of
three levels:
Active Membership requires payment of annual dues of $10
($5 for junior volunteers 14 to 18 years old), plus participation
as an active volunteer. All volunteers must hold membership in
the Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary.
Contributing Membership requires payment of $35 annually, plus some form of service to the Auxiliary. Eisenhower Medical Center Contributing Members may serve as volunteers, but volunteer service is not required.
Life Membership requires payment of $150, with no additional annual dues. Participation in Auxiliary affairs and volunteer service is encouraged but not mandatory.
Life Members may also secure membership in the Five Star Century Club with an additional payment of $100 annually. Interest on the income from this membership is used to help defray the operating costs of the Auxiliary Office.
